Job summary

Genesis Abbotts Creek Center in North Carolina seeks a Staff Development Coordinator, RN, to lead education for nursing staff and ensure high-quality, safe patient care in a long-term care setting. Some on-call responsibilities required.

You will orient new staff, develop education programs, and oversee competency testing while collaborating with leadership to promote staff development and resident well-being. RN licensure and LTC experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current RN license.
• Minimum three years full-time or equivalent clinical experience preferred.
• Two years of clinical experience in long-term care nursing with one year as an educator preferred.
• Excellence in clinical nursing skills required.
• Experience in Gerontology preferred.
• Training and/or experience in adult learning preferred.

Responsibilities

• Orient and educate all nursing personnel in the nursing center and ensure safe, effective nursing care.
• Report to the Director of Nursing and develop education programs in response to staff needs.
• Supervise and monitor new nursing employees during orientation.
• Perform annual competency testing and evaluate staff performance for education.
• Oversee Employee Health Program including vaccine tracking and influenza immunizations.
