Job summary

Genesis HealthCare seeks a Nurse Educator to join the team in a dedicated role focusing on staff development and clinical education.

You will report to the Director of Nursing, develop education programs, supervise orientation, conduct competency testing, and oversee employee health activities including vaccines. Three years of clinical LTC experience and educator background are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current RN license.
• Minimum three years full-time clinical experience preferred (long-term care).
• Two years of clinical experience in long-term care with one year as an educator preferred.
• Excellence in clinical nursing skills required.
• Experience in Gerontology preferred.
• Training and/or experience in adult learning preferred.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Director of Nursing
• Develop education programs in response to staff needs and teach current patient care and nursing center practices
• Supervise and monitor new nursing employees throughout orientation
• Perform annual competency testing and evaluate nursing staff performance
• Provide oversight to Employee Health Program including TB/hepatitis vaccines and influenza immunizations
