Job summary

Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center in Reading, PA is seeking an inpatient Registered Nurse for the night shift. The RN administers care, develops plans, and maintains patient records for ill, injured, or convalescent patients while monitoring responses to treatments.

Minimum qualifications include an active RN license and BLS/ACLS completion before orientation ends; strong focus on safety, documentation, and patient education. Night differential applies and orientation ongoing.

Qualifications

• Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.
• AHA BLS and ACLS/ALS to be completed prior to the end of the orientation period.

Responsibilities

• The RN inpatient assesses patient health problems and develops nursing care plans.
• Administers nursing care and medications, monitors for reactions and side effects.
• Maintains medical records and advises patients on health maintenance and disease prevention.
• Monitors, records, and reports symptoms or changes in patients’ conditions.
