Job summary

Prime Healthcare’s Saint John Hospital in Leavenworth, KS seeks an RN House Supervisor to oversee hospital operations on shift and ensure safe, efficient patient care. You will serve as the administrative liaison when management is off-site, supervise staffing, handle crises, and coordinate interdepartmental flow across ED, ICU, and wards to prevent bottlenecks.

Requires active RN license, BLS and ACLS, 3+ years acute care nursing, plus 1 year supervisory experience; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license.
• BLS certificate required at hire and maintained.
• ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• Minimum of three (3) years acute care nursing experience.
• One (1) year supervisory experience preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Intervene in emergency situations including codes and Rapid Response activations.
• Monitor patient flow; supervise bed availability and admissions/discharges/transfers.
• Collaborate with ED, ICU, med-surg, and ancillary departments to avoid bottlenecks.
• Manage staffing by evaluating unit needs and coordinating float pool/per diem/agency support.
• Prepare shift reports and document critical incidents and safety concerns.
• Oversee hospital operations during assigned shifts; ensure quality care and staff coordination.
• Support staff, assist with urgent procedures, ensure RN staff orientation, and promote positive patient experience.

We are seekingaRNHouse Supervisor,sometimes referred to as a Hospital House Supervisoror Clinical House Supervisor.The RN House Supervisorwillensuresmooth, safe, and efficient clinical operations across the entire hospital. TheRN Supervisoris the administrative representative of hospital leadership when management is off-site.The RN House Supervisorwillensure that staffing, patient care, crisis response, and interdepartmental coordination are handled without interruption.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• May directly intervene in emergency situations, including patient codes, Rapid Response activations, or behavioral escalations

• Monitors patient flow:supervise bed availability and coordinates admissions, discharges, and inter-unit transfers

• Work closely with the emergency department (ED), intensive care units (ICU), med-surg floors, and ancillary departments (lab, imaging, pharmacy) to avoid bottlenecks

• Manage staffing by evaluating unit needs based on census, patient acuity, and absences; reallocates existing staff and coordinates float pool, per diem, or agency support

• Prepare comprehensive shift reports and documents critical incidents—including patient complaints, staff conflicts, injuries, and safety concerns

• Oversee hospital operations during assigned shifts, ensuring quality care, efficient patient flow, and staff coordination in the absence of administrative leadership

• Supports staff,assistwith urgent procedures and staffing, ensureRNstaff orientation, and promote a positive patient experience

Qualifications

Education, Work Experience & Qualifications:

1. Current and valid license as a Registered Nurse.2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.3. ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.4. One (1) year prior experience as a Supervisor preferred.5. Minimum of three (3) years acute care nursing experience 6. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
