Job summary

Highbridge Healthcare in Hamden, CT seeks an Overnight RN Supervisor to provide clinical oversight and leadership on the night shift in a long-term care facility. You will supervise LPNs and CNAs, respond to emergencies, administer medications, and ensure care plans are followed.

This role acts as the primary clinical authority overnight, coordinating staffing, documentation, and handoffs to the day shift while maintaining strict compliance with state and facility policies.

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license in good standing.
• Minimum 2+ years of long-term care or skilled nursing experience.
• Prior supervisory or charge nurse experience preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage emergencies.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Oversight: Supervise and support nursing staff during the night shift and ensure care consistent with physician orders and care plans.
• Leadership & Supervision: Serve as charge nurse, assign staff, provide coaching, and ensure handoffs to day shift.
• Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate nursing documentation and communicate with physicians and families.
• Operations & Safety: Monitor building safety, handle staffing emergencies, and ensure infection control.
