Job summary

Origin Travel Nurses is seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse for a NICU assignment in Salt Lake City, Utah. 13-week contract with 19:00–07:00 shifts, rotating weekends (4 shifts per month).

You will care for premature and critically ill neonates in a high-acuity unit, providing a wide range of neonatal nursing procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years recent Level 3 or greater NICU experience.
• Experience with respiratory support for neonates.
• Competency in managing patients on CPAP, high‑flow nasal cannula, and mechanical ventilation.
• Experience with umbilical lines (UAC/UVC), PICC lines, and central line management.
• Experience administering and monitoring parenteral nutrition, IV medications, and neonatal drips.
• Proficiency in neonatal assessment and stabilization.
• Current RN License.
• Certifications: NRP, BLS, STABLE.

Responsibilities

• Neonatal resuscitation and stabilization.

• Mechanical ventilation management and surfactant administration.
• Line management including UVC and UAC.
• PICC line management and maintenance.
• Administration of blood products, TPN, and lipids.

• Discharge planning and caregiver education.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Travel Registered Nurse for our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in caring for premature and critically ill neonates in a high-acuity environment.

Responsibilities

• Neonatal resuscitation and stabilization
• Management of Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) and high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) therapy
• Mechanical ventilation management and surfactant administration
• Line management including umbilical venous catheter (UVC) and umbilical arterial catheter (UAC)
• PICC line management and maintenance
• Administration of blood products, Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN), and lipids
• Phototherapy for hyperbilirubinemia and feeding tube placement
• Management of therapeutic hypothermia protocols
• Medication and infusion management in a neonatal setting
• Conducting discharge planning and caregiver education

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
