Position Overview

• Full-time; 36 hours per week
• Day Shift; 7am – 7pm

Department Overview

The Family Maternity Center includes a 57-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) dedicated to babies born prematurely or requiring higher levels of care. The NICU encourages parental bonding and provides specialized medical support. Our NICU-trained team includes:

• Board-certified neonatologists
• Neonatal nurse practitioners
• NICU nurses
• Human milk technicians (LPNs)
• NICU-trained respiratory therapists
• Occupational therapists
• Dieticians
• Social workers/Case Management
• Lactation specialists

NICU RNs assist parents in caring for their babies, promoting comfort and bonding during their stay.

Minimum Requirements

License and Certification

• Virginia or Compact Multi-State RN License in good standing
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 6 months of hire

Education

• RN-Associate’s Degree, or
• RN-Bachelor’s Degree, or
• RN-Diploma, or
• RN-Master’s Degree
