Description:The position involves working on a telemetry unit.The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4 for day shifts and 1:5 for night shifts.Common diagnoses and types of patients include congestive heart failure, hypertension, chest pain work-ups, COPD exacerbations, asthma, pneumonia, pancreatitis, bowel obstructions, gastrointestinal bleeding, and acute renal failure.The unit is equipped with CPAP, HFNC, and NRB devices.Telemetry monitoring is provided with RNs reading strips and co-signing them.Required certifications include ACLS and BLS.Self-scheduling and block scheduling are allowed.Full and part-time employees are expected to self-schedule a minimum of six weekend shifts within a six-week period.There are holiday requirements for scheduling.Charge nurses take assignments and there are nurse aides available on the unit.The charting system used is EPIC.The facility can cancel up to 4 shifts during the assignment.
