Description:Rehabilitation Medical-Surgical combines medical-surgical nursing with intensive rehabilitation.It focuses on patients recovering from surgery, serious illness, or injury to restore function and independence.Therapies include physical, occupational, and speech therapy, alongside specialized medical and nursing care.The goal is to improve quality of life by treating the whole person.Registered Nurses may be asked to work as a backup Charge Nurse.They will coordinate total nursing care for patients.Participation in patient and family teaching is expected.Leadership is demonstrated by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel.Nurses are required to maintain standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.The nurse to patient ratio is 1 to 4/5.The average daily patient census is 22.Requests for time off during the assignment must be noted and verified prior to submission.Travelers may not take all holidays off and must work certain specified blocks if scheduled.Any scheduling requests must be included in the profile before submission.All travelers must have their own vehicle as public transport is not available.A firm requirement is that the traveler has to reside outside the specified local distance.Call-offs may lead to contract termination if the specified criteria are not met.Every other weekend and holiday work may be required if needed.
