Description: The position requires a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical.The unit provides care for patients with various medical conditions.Common diagnoses include congestive heart failure, hypertension, chest pain work-ups, and exacerbations of COPD and asthma.The unit also handles pancreatitis, bowel obstructions, gastrointestinal bleeding, and acute renal failure.Nurses will be responsible for titrating drips for analgesics, anticoagulants, and antihypertensives.Self-scheduling and block scheduling options are allowed.Weekend shifts are required, with a minimum of six weekends per six-week schedule.Full-time employees must support equitable distribution among staff while meeting department needs.The charge nurse will take an assignment.Floating may be required based on departmental needs.Nurse aides are available with a ratio of 1:5.The unit is equipped with respiratory therapy equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow vents.The shift requires participation in holiday scheduling.The charting system used is EPIC.
