Description:Serving a community hospital with a range of services, including lab, radiology, and cardiology.This facility has 170 beds and is accredited by the Joint Commission.It serves a diverse patient population with a focus on adult and geriatric care.The nurse will assess, plan, delegate, and coordinate the nursing care for assigned patients throughout the scheduled shift in collaboration with the healthcare team.Identification of both actual and potential needs will facilitate an organized and prioritized plan of care.The nurse will supervise patient care assignments and other unit duties for nursing team members.Assignments will be based on acuity and staff proficiency.Emergency situations must be recognized and responded to appropriately.Documentation of assessment, plan of care, interventions, and patient/family responses to interventions is required.Patient care activities must be delivered according to established standards of care and practice.Nurses will administer medications and treatments, such as IV medications and chemotherapy.Maintaining a safe patient and working environment by adhering to infection control and safety policies is essential.Physician orders must be received, documented, followed up, and evaluated for patient outcomes.Assurance that orders are carried out properly according to policy is required.
