Job summary

Cynet HealthStaff is seeking an experienced RN - MS for a night shift 7 PM to 7 AM on a 13-week contract in a medical/surgical unit. The role requires RN licensure, BLS, NIHSS, and EPIC experience with a minimum of 2 years of nursing practice.

Responsibilities include telemetry monitoring, blood product administration, central line draws, chest tube management, and dysrhythmia care. May float to other departments; weekends every other weekend; no-calls expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for medical/surgical patients (hip fractures, pneumonia, AKI, etc.)
• Monitor telemetry and manage dysrhythmias
• Administer blood products and perform central line draws
• Chest tube management and IV insulin protocol administration
• Rotate to other departments as needed; no-call requirements
• Prepare for pre-screening and final management interview by supervisor

Must-Have:

Traveler will be expected to work 2 of 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving Day/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, New Years Eve/New Years Day.

If the contract falls over only 2 of these holidays, traveler will be expected to work 1 of 2 holidays.

Schedule requires 3x12 Nights (7 PM - 7 AM).

Pre-screening will occur to determine clinical fit.

If clinical pass is achieved and fits within guidelines, candidate will proceed to manager for final decision.

Manager will conduct an interview.

Experience with a patient ratio of 5 is required.

Floating to other departments may be necessary based on unit needs.

Weekends are mandatory every other weekend.

No call requirements are outlined.

The unit cares for patients with conditions including hip fractures, osteomyelitis, cellulitis, acute kidney injury, pneumonia, bowel obstructions, and general medical/surgical cases.

Candidates may care for COVID patients.

Facility is tobacco and fragrance free.

Daily census is approximately 20.

Interdisciplinary support includes IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Lift Teams, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, and Transportation.

Candidates should be prepared to manage and care for specific medical conditions and skills including, but not limited to, blood product administration, central line blood draw, chest tube management, and telemetry monitoring.

Knowledge of care for total joint replacements and orthopedic trauma is preferred.

Additional skills include interpretation of arterial blood gases, IV insulin protocols, and management of dysrhythmias.

This is a healthcare position requiring adherence to strict regulations and standards.

P/F testing may be required to be completed within 72 hours of signing any contracts.

Modules are billable and generally take 5-6 hours to complete prior to the start of the position.
