Job summary

Deborah seeks a skilled Registered Nurse for critical care with leadership responsibilities. You will apply the nursing process to assess and direct care for cardiovascular/pulmonary/vascular patients, including unstable cases requiring complex management.

Two years of critical care preferred; NJ RN license and BLS required, ACLS/PALS preferred. 72 hours per pay period, 7P-7A shift with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing program (diploma/associate/BSN).
• Non-BSN must obtain BSN within 5 years of hire.
• Two years of critical care preferred; courses within 90 days of hire.
• Licensure and certifications as required (NJ Nursing, BLS; ACLS/PALS preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide and direct primary nursing care using the nursing process for cardiovascular/pulmonary/vascular deficits.
• Direct care for unstable or complex patients; participate in leadership roles on unit.
• Serve as Charge Nurse or in educational/committee activities; guide resource use.

Job description

Position Summary:
Utilizes the nursing process to provide and direct primary nursing care to patients with cardiovascular/pulmonary/vascular health deficits, in whom outcomes may be unpredictable to perform comprehensive assessment, planning, intervention and/or evaluation of complex multisystem health care deficits; to direct the nursing care of unstable patients or patients requiring complex care management. Handles multiple demands and tasks simultaneously, demonstrating clinical problem solving skills. Is supported by the Director of Critical Care Nursing, Clinical Team Leader and charge nurse in assuming unit leadership roles including, but not limited to, serving as the Charge Nurse, committee leadership and/or involvement, conducting unit orientation and education; directs and guides the use of resources for patient care.

Experience:
Preferred: Two years' experience in critical care nursing to work in critical care units. Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation, IV Therapy Certification, Hemodynamics, and Mock Code Work Shop within 90 days of hire or promotion -or- at the first available course offering.

Education:
Required: Graduate of accredited diploma, associate degree or baccalaureate degree nursing program. Non-BSN's must complete a BSN degree within 5 years' of hire.
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in nursing

License and Credentials:
Required: NJ State Nursing License; BLS certification
Preferred: ACLS Certification, PALS Certification

The minimum starting rate for this position is $47.08
