Job summary

ARMStaffing is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Medical-Surgical unit in Taos, NM. This night shift role involves three 12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00) with on-call requirements and requires strong patient assessment, medication administration, and teamwork with the healthcare team.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in medical-surgical care, active RN license, ACLS/BLS/PALS certifications (on-site within first week), and experience with Evident charting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years clinical experience in a medical-surgical setting.
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required; on-site within first week.
• Active RN license required before start.
• Evident charting experience preferred.
• Critical access or tele unit experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and monitor patient responses.
• Manage diverse patient care needs, including telemetry monitoring.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary team to create effective care plans.
• Utilize BiPAP/CPAP management and blood product administration as needed.
• Provide wound care and manage surgical drains.
• Perform IV starts, dysrhythmia interpretation, and PCA management.

Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical Unit

Schedule

This is a night shift position consisting of three 12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00, with on-call requirements.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care in a critical access facility with an emphasis on patient assessment, medication administration, and collaboration with the healthcare team to deliver effective interventions for patients across various age groups, including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and monitor patient responses.
• Manage diverse patient care needs, including those requiring telemetry monitoring.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary team members to create effective care plans.
• Utilize BiPAP/CPAP management and blood product administration as needed.
• Provide wound care and manage surgical drains.
• Perform essential tasks including IV starts, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and PCA management.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in a medical-surgical setting.
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications are required; can be obtained on-site within the first week.
• Active RN license must be secured before the start of the assignment.
• Experience with Evident charting system is preferred.
• Experience in a critical access or tele unit is strongly preferred.
