Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, IL seeks an experienced RN for the Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit on the night shift. You will deliver safe patient care, perform the nursing process, and guide other staff while maintaining high standards of care.

Responsibilities include direct patient care, patient/family teaching, and timely communication with physicians about changes in condition and test results. BLS and ACLS are required, with cardiology experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• BLS certification must be current on hire.
• ACLS certification required within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• Basic arrhythmia interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Ventilator management experience preferred.
• Acute care hospital experience preferred.
• BSN preferred or RN-BC certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice and support patient/family teaching.
• Direct and guide nursing personnel while maintaining Telemetry Unit standards.
• Communicate changes in patient condition and test results with the physician.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and treatment response.
