Job summary

The Registered Nurse in Mercy Medical Center's ICU in Aurora, IL delivers direct patient care using the nursing process, monitors hemodynamics, and communicates changes with physicians while guiding patient and family education during the night shift (7:00pm–7:30am). Requirements include a current RN license, BLS and ACLS on hire.

Critical Care Course, CCRN and BSN are preferred; one year of acute/critical care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Critical Care Course preferred.
• CCRN Certification preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in ICU using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation).
• Monitor hemodynamics and communicate changes to the physician with relevant data.
• Guide patient and family teaching while maintaining standards of care.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure safe and effective patient care.
