Job summary

St. Tammany Health System in Covington, LA is seeking a Registered Nurse to coordinate clinical activities for Medical/Surgical patients.

The role supports nursing process, organizes, plans, implements, evaluates, and delivers patient care in line with hospital policies. You will supervise LPNs, Unit Assistants and CNAs, ensure compliance with State Nurse Practice Act, and contribute to department and hospital goals.

Qualifications

• Successfully completed Board Certified Nursing Program.
• Current LA RN licensure.
• BLS certification required upon hire.
• ACLS encouraged.
• Basic EKG encouraged within 6 months of hire.
• Excellent computer skills required.
• Must be able to work 12-hour shifts, and meet holiday and weekend requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate clinical activities for Medical/Surgical patients using the nursing process—planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating care.
• Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses, Unit Assistants and Certified Nursing Assistants.
• Ensure compliance with the State Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies and procedures.
• Support department and hospital goals and objectives.
