Job summary

St. Tammany Health System in Covington, LA is seeking a Registered Nurse to coordinate clinical activities for Medical/Surgical patients, using the nursing process to plan, implement and evaluate care.

The RN will supervise LPNs, Unit Assistants, and CNAs, adhere to the State Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies, and meet holiday and weekend requirements. This 7am-7pm role involves 12-hour shifts with TBD weekly hours.

Qualifications

• Board Certified Nursing Program completed.
• Current LA RN licensure.
• BLScertified through the American Heart Association required upon hire.
• ACLS encouraged.
• Basic EKG encouraged within 6 months of hire.
• Excellent computer skills required.
• Must be able to work 12-hour shifts, and meet holiday and weekend requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate clinical activities for Medical/Surgical patients using the nursing process.
• Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses, Unit Assistants and Certified Nursing Assistants.
• Follow hospital policies and procedures and nursing standards.
