Job summary

St. Tammany Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse to coordinate clinical activities for Medical/Surgical patients. The RN will supervise LPNs, Unit Assistants and CNAs and ensure care aligns with nursing standards and hospital policies.

The role requires LA RN licensure, board certification, BLS, and strong computer skills. ALS and basic EKG knowledge are encouraged within 6 months of hire; 12-hour shifts are required.

Qualifications

• Current LA RN licensure and board-certified nursing program.
• BLS certification through ILCOR courses (e.g., AHA, Red Cross) with manikin check-off.
• ALS encouraged and basic EKG knowledge within 6 months of hire.
• Excellent computer skills and ability to use hospital information systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate clinical activities for Medical/Surgical patients using nursing process.
• Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses, Unit Assistants and CNAs.
• Adhere to State Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies and procedures.
• Support department and hospital goals and objectives.
