Job summary

Inova Fairfax Medical Campus in Falls Church, VA is hiring a Registered Nurse to join the Medical/Surgical Unit on a full-time day shift. The RN will provide care for ED admissions and Medical/Surgical patients, participate in rounds, and support learning through fellowship training. Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance are eligible.

The role emphasizes quality patient care, safety, and collaboration with an established team in a top teaching hospital environment.

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited school of nursing.
• 1 year of Registered Nurse clinical experience.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in Virginia as RN or multi-state RN license; BLS from AHA.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient assessments to collect basic data. Follows written plans of care, standards and practice guidelines while utilizing pathways under the supervision of an experienced RN.
• Organizes, prioritizes and delivers patient care to assigned patients by utilizing Inova's Nursing Professional Practice Model and Care Delivery Model to achieve outcomes. Monitors patients' progress and adjusts plans of care accordingly.
• Provides compassionate and empathetic hands-on care while maintaining patient privacy.
• States rationale for clinical decisions based on education and evidence-based practices.
• Works efficiently within the healthcare team to achieve maximum productivity and outcomes.
• Accurately documents all patient care activities per documentation standards and seeks assistance to develop skills.
• Participates in multidisciplinary rounds and meetings as an active healthcare team member.
• Shows openness to feedback, mentoring, and implementing changes to enhance care.
• Attends and participates in all learning sessions for the RN Fellowship and completes assignments on time.
• May serve as a preceptor after orientation and competency; performs other duties as assigned.
