Job summary

Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is seeking a Night Shift Registered Nurse Unit Supervisor for the Medical/Surgical unit in Falls Church, VA. This full-time night role includes a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance.

The RN will lead shift operations, support staff, and ensure high-quality patient care in a top teaching hospital setting. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of RN experience, a BSN, and BLS certification, with ADN considered if within one year of completing BSN.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of Registered Nurse clinical experience.
• BSN required; ADN may apply if within 1 year of completing BSN.
• BLS by American Heart Association required.
• Completion of revised Charge Nurse and RN Unit Supervisor workshop within the first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Conducts high quality shift huddles communicating priorities and barriers.
• Leads safety rounding and ensures environmental safety and patient care standards.
• Rounds on staff to remove barriers and enhance engagement.
• Analyzes unit metrics and assists in action plans for improvements.
• Participates in emergency and safety drills and simulations.
• Ensures adherence to Joint Commission standards and unit policies.
• Mentors staff and supports clinical decision making and problem solving.
• Acts as Physician Liaison for the unit and coordinates discharge planning.
