Mercy Health in Ohio is seeking a Registered Nurse for Medical/Surgical units. The RN will perform assessments, develop and maintain care plans, administer medications safely, and serve as a patient advocate coordinating care across hospital departments.

The role emphasizes teaching, patient safety, and collaboration with spiritual care, palliative care, and ethics teams; requires an active RN license and BLS/ACLS credentials where applicable. This position is full-time with rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• One year of RN experience required.
• Six months RN experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• Current RN license in state of practice (or compact).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required/preferred; ACLS acceptable in lieu of BLS.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and document nursing assessments and care plans.
• Administer medications safely per policy and procedures.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams for discharge planning and care continuity.
• Provide patient education and advocate for patient safety and quality improvement.
