Mercy Health in Ohio is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical/Surgical unit to deliver comprehensive patient care as part of a multidisciplinary team. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care while coordinating discharge planning and family education.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state they are working or covered by compact (required)
• BLS Basic Life Support (preferred on hire; must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care)
• RN-BC, CCRN, PCCN, CMSRN or NIH Stroke Certification (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Establish goals and strategies for meeting discharge or continuing care needs with the patient.
• Perform and document complete patient assessments and maintain current nursing care plans.
• Identify learning needs and provide individualized teaching.
• Administer medications in a safe manner per state practice and policies.
• Act as a patient safety advocate and participate in quality improvement.
• Coordinate patient care across hospital departments and with spiritual/ethics teams.
