Job summary

Fairview Health Services currently seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse for the Med/Surg Surgical unit at Southdale Hospital in Edina. The role involves caring for post-operative and acute medical patients in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The unit focuses on general and specialized surgical care including post-op patients with telemetry, supported by a skilled team. Schedule features 12-hour night shifts with every third weekend, and a comprehensive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• Active Minnesota RN license.
• Current Basic Life Support certification (AHA or Red Cross).
• Experience in acute care or surgical units preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and develop nursing outcomes.
• Collaborate with patient, family and health team to create a nursing care plan.
• Create an individualized plan based on age, needs and condition.
• Evaluate care and patient response to interventions and outcomes.
• Communicate with patient and family to promote partnership in care.
• Promote evidence-based practice and continuous improvement to improve outcomes.
