Job summary

Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. The ED handles high-acuity care in a 44-bed unit and serves the southwest Twin Cities metro area.

The RN will work 0.7 FTE on nights (7pm–3:30am) with every other weekend, supporting trauma and stroke care in a busy ED. Responsibilities include assessment, planning and evaluation of nursing care, coordination with the care team, and adherence to MN RN practice and hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Current Minnesota RN license required.
• BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross.
• ACLS must be completed before end of orientation.
• TNCC within 1 year post hire.
• ENCP within 1 year post hire.
• 1–2 years of ED/ICU RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and identify expected nursing outcomes.
• Collaborate with patient, family and health team to develop an integrated plan of care.
• Develop an individualized plan based on age, social and cultural considerations and condition.
• Evaluate care and patient response to interventions and outcomes.
• Communicate with patient, family and health care team to promote partnership-based care.
• Promote evidence-based practice and continuous improvement to enhance outcomes.
