Job summary

Fairview Health Services, located at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN, seeks a Registered Nurse for the 3rd Floor Orthopedic Surgical Specialty Unit. You will assess, plan, deliver and evaluate adult nursing care, coordinating with the health care team to meet patient goals.

This role requires MN RN license and BLS; a Bachelor's degree is preferred and at least 1 year of experience is desirable. Night shifts are 12 hours with every third weekend; benefits include tuition reimbursement

Qualifications

About this Unit:

The 3rd Floor Orthopedic Surgical Specialty Unit is a 26 bed adult Medical/Surgical unit focuses on patients with an orthopedic diagnosis and was completed in the Fall of 2021. Schedule:

This position is 60 hours per pay period,12 hour night shifts (7:00pm-7:30am), with every third weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday).

A Brief Overview

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient needs and identifies expected nursing outcomes.
• Collaborates with patient, family and other health team members to develop a nursing plan as part of an integrated, comprehensive plan of care
• Develops an individualized plan based on age, social and cultural considerations, condition and other relevant needs.
• Evaluates care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes.
• Collaborates and communicates effectively and respectfully with the patient, family and members of the health care team within and across care settings to promote partnership-based health care
• Demonstrates the ability to advance care by utilizing standards, guidelines, care pathways and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes.
• Promotes a culture of evidence based practice (EBP)

Required Qualifications

• MN Registered Nurse (RN) License
• Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)
