Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Staff Nurse Inpatient-Kishwaukee to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. The role emphasizes nursing assessments, care planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration within the hospital setting.

The RN will document, educate, and discharge planning needs while adhering to safety standards. A BSN is required or ADN with commitment to complete BSN within three years; IL RN licensure and BLS are mandatory.

Qualifications

• BSN required.
• Illinois RN license current.
• BLS certification required.
• Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) acceptable with commitment to obtain a BSN within three years of first day of employment in clinical nurse role.

Responsibilities

• Performs established procedures using nursing process to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Assess patient/family educational needs and readiness to learn.
• Develops and updates nursing plan of care with input from interdisciplinary team.
• Initiates and coordinates communication with physicians and other healthcare providers.
• Monitors patient response to treatment and intervenes as needed.
• Prioritizes care needs and adjusts priorities as patient status changes.
• Involves patient/family in plan of care and discharge planning.
• Administers prescribed medications and educates patients/families about medications.
• Complies with Standards of Care and OSHA guidelines.
• Documents treatments, assessments, and patient responses accurately.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse

American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
