Job summary

Kirby Medical Center in Monticello, IL is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to provide direct and indirect patient care in Med/Surg and Emergency services. The position features three 12-hour shifts (6:30p-7:00a) with no required overtime and a 36-hour workweek, plus weekend/holiday rotations.

Salary ranges from $30.82 to $46.24 hourly with differential up to $6 per hour and bonus incentives. Benefits include PTO, health/dental/vision/life insurance, 401(k) match after 90 days, uniform

Qualifications

• Current state Illinois Registered Nurse Licensure (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
• BLS certification is required.
• ACLS and PALS certifications must be obtained within one year from hire date.
• Basic computer knowledge is expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care in Med/Surg and ER settings.
• Communicate changes in patient condition with physicians and Nurse Manager.
• Perform physical assessments and wound care.
• Administer and manage respiratory interventions (vapotherm, ventilator, nebulizer).
• Collect specimens and identify medications.
• Assist with activities of daily living and monthly crash cart checks.
• Provide ER assistance during codes when needed.

Job Summary: Provides direct and indirect patient care in the medical-surgical And Emergency Room setting. Communicates with physicians’/Nurse Manager/co-workers, as appropriate, about changes in patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Additionally, is able to perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision.

Duties Specific to Medical Surgical Nurse:

• Reviews chart notes from the current shift/day for thoroughness of documentation.
• Perform physical assessment.
• Wound care.
• Respiratory interventions such as vapotherm, ventilator, nebulizer treatments.
• Specimen collection.
• Medication identification.
• Assist patient in performing activities of daily living.
• Assist with monthly crash cart checks.
• Assist in emergency room when code alerts are called.

Requirements

Regulatory Requirements:
