Job summary

Boyd Healthcare Services seeks a Registered Nurse for a part-time role in Illinois. The RN will provide and supervise patient care in accordance with policies, maintain clinical records, and ensure compliance with the Illinois Nurse Practice Act. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Responsibilities include assessments, care planning, medication administration, patient education, and discharge planning. EHR proficiency and adherence to HIPAA are required.

Qualifications

  • Must be licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in Illinois.
  • CPR certification required; ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire.

Overview

Job Type: Part-time


Position Summary: Provides and supervises care to patients within the facility in accordance with established policies, procedures and regulations. Maintains records per facility guideline and is responsible for maintaining clinical competence. Practices nursing consistent with the Illinois Nurse Practice Act.


Responsibilities


  • Performs ongoing assessments, establishes a plan of care and monitors response to the treatment plan.

  • Prioritizes care and responds to emergency situations and patient needs.

  • Participates in patient care activities, ensures ADLs are met, and completes work in a thorough and timely manner.

  • Makes purposeful rounds to assess the response of therapies and interventions and documents findings per the facility guidelines in the E.H.R

  • Interacts with patients and/or family; provides education. Develops an individualized plan of care for each patient.

  • Discharges patients making appropriate referrals as ordered. Performs and documents discharge teaching and instructions in the E.H.R.

  • Administers medication and treatments safely and efficiently.

  • Communicates with the physician regarding patient care, changes in condition, and the clarification and execution of physician orders. Assists as needed with treatments, procedures and exams. Takes an active role as an integral part of the health care team.

  • Operates and supervises the operation of specialized equipment.

  • Assigns care to ancillary personnel according to job description, competency, policies, and patient acuity. Interacts with other departments and agencies to facilitate care.

  • Maintains a positive interpersonal relationship with patients, families, maintains efficient and effective functioning of the nursing department.

  • Assists with the maintenance of supplies and pharmaceuticals and monitors outdates.

  • Is well informed regarding all phases of duties and seeks out training to maximize skills.

  • Provides assistance and guidance to the nursing team as required.

  • Attends all mandatory in-services and will maintain skills verification.

  • Adheres to the Compliance, Safety and HIPPA policies of the facility.

  • Has access to the “most sensitive” identifiable patient information.

  • Has Knowledge of and is able to competently utilize the EHR.

Required Qualifications – Education/Licensure/Certification


  • Licensure in the State of Illinois as a Registered Nurse.

  • CPR certification required, ACLS certification and PALS required within 6 months
