Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current license as a Registered Nurse from the State of Iowa.
• Able to work 12-hour night shifts and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Administers nursing care to patients; develops and evaluates the care plan.
• Provides patient/family education and counseling on health issues.
• Supervises health care team members (e.g., patient care technicians) as assigned.
• Utilizes computer applications and communication technologies to enter, retrieve and analyze information.
• Maintains documentation requirements for patient records.
• Works independently under the Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.
• Maintains knowledge of equipment setup and use (IV pumps, monitors, drainage devices).
• Rotates shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
