Job summary

MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, IA, seeks a Registered Nurse for the 7pm–7:30am night shift with a 12-hour schedule and a weekend/holiday rotation. A sign-on bonus starting at $10,000 is offered.

The RN will assess patient needs, develop and monitor care plans, supervise LPNs and CNAs, and educate patients and families. Iowa RN licensure and BLS are required, with acute care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in Iowa or qualified multi-state license required.
• Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• Previous experience in acute care preferred.
• Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) via current card prior to employment or within 60 days of hire.
• Mandatory Reporting: Child and Dependent Adult Abuse within 6 months of hire and renews this every 5 years.
• Completes Cardiac Dysrhythmias and Management class within 3 months of hire, and annual skill validation.

Responsibilities

• Assesses and evaluates patient needs and documents patient/family responses while collaborating with the multidisciplinary team.
• Develops and implements patient care plans including discharge planning based on standards of nursing practice.
• Guides and directs patient care activities using clinical/critical thinking and evidence-based practice.
• Provides daily direction to Licensed Practical Nurse and Nurse Assistant.
• Provides, facilitates, and/or implements learning opportunities to meet patient/family education needs.
