Job summary

JPS Health Network in Fort Worth, TX seeks a Registered Nurse for the Med Surg/Orthopedic/Neuro unit on the night shift (7p–7a). The RN assesses, plans, directs, and provides quality patient care while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective care and timely discharge planning.

Responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, documenting in medical records, and coordinating transfers per EMTALA when applicable.

Qualifications

• Nursing Diploma from an accredited program or higher degree in nursing.
• Current Texas nursing licensure or reciprocal licensure within 90 days.
• RN I: 6 months to <2 years experience; RN II: 2–5 years; RN III: 5–10 years; RN IV: 10+ years.
• Current BLS certification maintained during employment.
• Completion of unit orientation within 90 days; EKG and ACLS within 90 days if on a monitored unit.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, direct, implement and provide quality patient care for assigned patients.
• Monitor patient condition, vitals, and report changes promptly.
• Document accurately in medical records and orders; coordinate discharge planning.
• Collaborate with care teams and maintain hand-offs per policy.
• Coordinate patient transfers in accordance with EMTALA and department procedures.
