Job summary

RN - Med Surg-T2-Cardiac Unit-Night at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, TX. Provides nursing care across a multi-disciplinary team with a focus on cardiac and medical/surgical patients.

The role requires a nursing diploma or higher, Texas RN license, BLS and ACLS with orientation completed in 90 days. Preferred is a BSN; on-site shift is from 7p–7a with EMTALA-related responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Nursing Diploma or higher from an accredited program.
• Current Texas RN license or proof of reciprocity within 90 days.
• RN levels 4881–RN IV denote increasing experience.
• Current JPS recognized BLS certification (maintained).
• Completion of unit orientation within 90 days.
• ECG/ACLS within 90 days of hire if on a monitored unit.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, direct, implement and assist to provide quality patient care.
• Monitor patient condition, vital signs, and intervene as needed.
• Perform complete data collection from patients and history.
• Discharge planning and patient/family education as appropriate.
• Document accurately in medical records and systems.
• Collaborate with care teams and hand-off communications.
• Coordinate patient transfers per EMTALA as applicable.
