JPS Health Network is seeking an experienced RN for the Cardiovascular PCU on the night shift at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, TX. The role emphasizes comprehensive patient assessment, planning, and coordination of care for cardiovascular patients.

The ideal candidate will have a nursing diploma or higher, Texas RN licensure (or reciprocity), and current BLS; ACLS and NIHSS are required within set timeframes. A supportive, patient-centered environment with collaborative teams awaits.

Qualifications

• Nursing Diploma from an Accredited Diploma Program or Associate or higher Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current licensure by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas or proof of reciprocity within 90 days.
• RN I: 6 months -1.99 years of relevant experience.
• RN II: 2-4.99 years of relevant experience.
• RN III: 5-9.99 years of relevant experience.
• RN IV: 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Current JPS recognized BLS certification and maintained throughout employment.
• ACLS within 3 months of hire, EKG test within 90 days, NIHSS within 90 days and maintained.
• Unit specific orientation within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Plans, assesses, directs, implements and provides quality patient care for assigned patients, including medication administration and discharge planning.
• Monitors changes in patient condition and reports symptoms; records vital signs.
• Performs data collection from patient history and complaints.
• Collaborates with patients to identify treatment goals and discharge plans.
• Delivers nursing care including education directed toward knowledge deficits, treatment, pain management, and discharge.
• Documents in medical records and computer systems with accurate orders and information.
• Minimizes infection risk through multidisciplinary teamwork and careful care delivery.
• Maintains detailed reports and age-appropriate care considerations.
• Builds rapport with physicians, departments, staff, patients, and visitors.
• Anticipates deteriorating conditions and equipment issues; takes action.
