Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT is seeking a Postpartum/Maternity RN to provide care for mothers, newborns and related gynecologic patients on a 12-hour night shift. You will support families, educate on infant care, monitor for complications, and contribute to overall nursing quality.

Required CT RN licensure; BSN preferred; BLS CPR required with ACLS preferred. Prior acute care or maternity experience is favored, with a full-time schedule and hospital benefits that accompany this role.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in CT is required.
• BSN preferred; graduate from accredited program.
• BLS CPR certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Acute Care, Medical-Surgical or Maternity experience preferred; per diem has 2 years experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide emotional support and guidance to new mothers and families.
• Educate parents on feeding, bathing, sleeping and breastfeeding.
• Monitor women and newborns for illness or complications.
• Contribute to quality of nursing care using performance improvement techniques.
• Communicate effectively with admin, colleagues, patients and family members.
