Job summary

Blanchard Valley Health System seeks an RN to coordinate total OB care under supervision of the Nursing Director or Clinical Manager. You will lead patient and family teaching, collaborate with physicians, and supervise LPNs and aides to ensure high-quality care.

The role requires current RN licensure and certifications (BCLS, NRP, ACLS, STABLE) within specified timelines, plus strong communication and age-appropriate care skills in a busy OB unit.

Qualifications

• Current state RN licensure in good standing.
• BCLS, NRP, ACLS and STABLE certifications required or within the stated hire timelines.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to provide age-appropriate care.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate total nursing care for patients under supervision of Nursing Director or Clinical Manager.
• Lead/participate in patient and family teaching; uphold professional nursing standards.
• Collaborate with physicians on patient condition, orders and treatment plans.
• Demonstrate leadership in managing LPNs, aides and secretaries to ensure quality patient care.
• Comply with policies and maintain department competencies; promote service excellence.
• Maintain knowledge of OB equipment and provide a safe patient environment.
• Deliver care across OB areas (Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Nursery) to ensure efficient service.
• Display commitment to hospital mission, vision and values; ensure patient satisfaction.
• Monitor and support a full range of daily nursing activities in a fast-paced unit.
• Uphold safety and infection control procedures to minimize exposure risks.
