Job summary

UP Health System - Portage in Michigan is seeking an experienced OB RN Director to lead the OB team and drive maternal care excellence. You will oversee nursing care for OB patients, coordinate services, and advance performance improvement initiatives in a Level I Maternal Care and Nursery setting.

The role requires Michigan RN licensure, an associate degree (bachelor's preferred), and leadership experience in labor and delivery. A comprehensive benefits package and sign-on bonus are offered.

Qualifications

• Current Michigan RN license.
• Associate's degree in nursing (Bachelor's degree preferred).
• BLS-HCP certification required.
• 4+ years Labor and Delivery experience (preferred).
• 2+ years leadership experience in healthcare (preferred).
• Annual influenza vaccination or declination required.

Responsibilities

• Provides and coordinates care of the OB patient using nursing process.
• Identifies and resolves issues affecting the delivery of clinical services.
• Performs performance improvement studies and assists with PI initiatives.
• Serves as a resource to staff and external contacts on patient care, patient flow and clinical standards.
• Monitors departmental compliance with accreditation, legal, and The Joint Commission.
• Coordinates staff scheduling, educational/development activities, and performance evaluations.
• Provides and coordinates patient educational needs, specifically to Labor and Delivery.
• Performs other job duties as assigned.
