Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health in Jersey Shore University Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to support Maternal Child Services, including labor and delivery, mother/baby care and high-risk antepartum. You will administer medications, document care, and educate families in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Requirements include a current NJ RN license and BLS/CPR within 60 days. ACLS/NRP preferred, 6 months of nursing experience or Nurse Residency participation preferred.

Qualifications

• Current and valid New Jersey Registered Nurse license is required.
• BlS/CPR certification by American Heart Association within 60 days of hire.
• Minimum of 6 months of nursing experience or active Hackensack Meridian Health Nurse Residency program.
• RN Nursery experience required.
• Maternal child services experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• ACLS and NRP preferred, must obtain within 6 months.
• Strong teamwork, accountability and patient-focused care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care per evidence-based policies to ensure safe delivery of patient care.
• Maintain ongoing communication with patients, family and health care team.
• Administer medications with bar-scanning and documentation technologies.
• Document care in Point-of-Care systems for each patient.
• Provide patient and family education to optimize health and disease management.
• Assist in multi-disciplinary discharge planning and care transitions.
• Cover Labor and Delivery, Mother/Baby, High Risk Antepartum, OR circulating, and newborn nursery care.
