Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for Maternal Child Services at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. The role focuses on delivering evidence-based nursing care in labor and delivery, mother/baby, and high-risk antepartum units, with strong emphasis on patient safety and team collaboration.

The position requires NJ RN licensure, BLS/CPR, and 6 months or residency program experience; ACLS/NRP preferred with BSN in progress.

Qualifications

• Current and valid New Jersey RN license is required.
• BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association is required within 60 days of hire.
• Minimum 6 months of nursing experience or active participation in Nurse Residency.
• Maternal child services experience preferred (labor and delivery, mother/baby, antepartum, well-baby).
• ACLS and NRP preferred; obtain within 6 months if not already certified.
• BSN in progress and/or willingness to pursue within three years of hire.
• Strong teamwork, accountability, and patient-centered approach are required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care using evidence-based practices to ensure safe, high-quality delivery.
• Communicate with patients and the care team about status and plans.
• Administer medications using bar-scanning and documentation technologies.
• Document assessments, plans of care, interventions and evaluations electronically in real time.
• Provide patient and family education to promote health and disease management.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary discharge planning for safe transition.
• Care for Labor/Delivery, Mother/Baby, High Risk Antepartum, OR circulation, and newborn nursery.
