Job summary

ARMStaffing is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week contract in Madison, Wisconsin. The day shift consists of 3x12-hour shifts, with responsibilities to supervise licensed practical nurses and CNAs while ensuring quality care.

Requirements include BLS certification before the first shift, and a minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience with an active RN license. Contract and local rates may vary by location and residency.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments within 8 hours of admission and create care plans.
• Identify learning needs with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Provide timely patient information and updates for conferences.
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately.
• Involve patients in rehabilitation and educate families.
• Initiate discharge planning and begin patient education early.
• Report significant changes in patient status for continuity of care and safety.
• Supervise nursing staff and ancillary personnel to run an efficient unit.
• Adhere to safety policies and foster a safety culture on the unit.
• Pursue ongoing professional development and self-directed learning.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants while collaborating with orientees in a supportive care environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and goals in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Provide timely patient information and status updates for team conferences.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, prioritizing the education of patients and their families.
• Initiate discharge planning upon admission and commence patient education accordingly.
• Communicate all significant changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care and safety.
• Provide direction and supervision to nursing staff and ancillary personnel, promoting an efficient work environment.
• Maintain adherence to safety policies and contribute to a culture of safety within the unit.
• Seek professional development opportunities through ongoing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
