Job summary

River View on the Appomattox in Hopewell, VA seeks an experienced Unit Manager (RN or LPN) to coordinate 24-hour patient care and unit operations in a long-term care setting.

You will lead nursing staff, participate in patient care planning, and ensure accurate documentation, effective communication with families, and adherence to quality initiatives. CPR certification and VA license are required; prior nursing management experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed nurse in good standing with the Virginia Department of Health Professions.
• Previous nursing management or supervisory experience preferred.
• Current CPR Healthcare Provider certification.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates, manages, evaluates, and is accountable for 24-hour patient care and unit operations.
• Promotes relationships with physicians, families, and staff; upholds quality standards.
• Monitors nursing documentation for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
• Performs rounds with physicians/extenders and communicates changes in patient condition.
• Assists with staffing, assigns responsibilities, and leads unit meetings.
• Completes incident reports and ensures follow-through on abuse/neglect concerns.
