Job summary

Star City Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking an RN/LPN Unit Manager to oversee nursing staff and ensure high-quality patient care in a day shift LTC setting.

The role requires current Virginia RN or LPN licensure, BLS and CPR certifications, and strong leadership and customer service skills to maintain a supportive, compliant care environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants in accordance with Federal, State, and Local standards.
• Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
• Prepare and administer prescribed medications and document administrations; report adverse reactions.
• Educate patients on procedures and record vital signs and medical information.
• Monitor equipment and interpret electronic displays; initiate corrective actions for adverse symptoms.
• Provide bedside care for diverse medical patients, including pre- and post-surgery.
• Assist in discharge planning and coordinate with the care team.
• Record all care information accurately and timely in the proper formats.

We are currently seeking a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse (RN/LPN) Unit Manager.

Job Description:

Provide direct nursing care to the residents and supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. Such supervision must be in accordance with current Federal, State, and Local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, and as may also be required by the Director of Nursing to always maintain the highest degree of quality care.

What you will do as the RN/LPN Unit Manager:

• Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans
• Prepare and administer (orally, subcutaneously, through an IV) and records prescribed medications. Report adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with the policy regarding the administration of medications by a licensed registered nurse.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients and interpret and record electronic displays.
• Initiate corrective action whenever the patient displays adverse symptomatology.
• Provide bedside care for a wide variety of medical patients, including pre- and post-surgery patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters, start IVs Participate in discharge planning.
• Record all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format, and on the appropriate forms.

Requirements/Qualifications:
