Job summary

The Cypress of Charlotte in Charlotte, NC is hiring a RN/LPN for full-time 2nd and 3rd shifts. You will provide direct nursing care to residents, supervise Quality-of-Life Specialists/Resident Assistants, and participate in shift-change reporting and medication administration per MAR.

Qualifications include NC or compact LPN/RN license, 3 months of elderly care experience, and strong teamwork, communication, and clinical judgment.

Qualifications

Must have valid NC or compact state LPN/RN license with no subst. findings of abuse, neglect or misappropriation of resident property.
Minimum of 3 months' experience as a LPN/RN, preferably elderly care.
Comprehensive knowledge of nursing principles and practices.
Ability to observe changes in resident's condition and act accordingly.
Ability to demonstrate understanding, patience, tact and courtesy in dealings with employees, residents, family, visitors and volunteers.
Ability to supervise staff and maintain good working relationships among personnel.
Ability to cooperate with other health professionals and coordinate efforts toward maximum resident care.
Ability to recognize problems, make decisions and solve problems.
Ability to demonstrate sound judgment in emergency situations.

Responsibilities

Receive and give report at shift change for LPN/RN and CNA; make rounds and report deficiencies to the Director of Nursing.
Count and sign off on narcotics at shift start and end.
Pass medications and document on MAR; notify Nursing Director of incomplete documentation.
Apply treatments, lotions, dressings, etc., and document in treatment record.
Document on residents per protocol.
Notify family and physicians of changes in resident condition when necessary.
Monitor dining room during meals and ensure staff are present.
Replenish supplies for medicine cart/room and place orders when shortages occur.
