Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton, Iowa, is hiring an RN or LPN for acute care. The Staff Nurse provides planning, coordination, delivery and evaluation of nursing care in collaboration with the health care team. This role requires current Iowa licensure and nursing program graduation, with ACLS/PALS/BCLS for RNs and BCLS for LPNs.

• Current Iowa RN or LPN licensure is required.

Position Summary

• The Staff RN or License Practical Nurse is a member of the health care team.

He/She:

• The staff nurse (RN or LPN) assists with planning, organizing, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating the nursing care of the patients.

f2. He/She delivers care in accordance with the care modality of the assignment. (Total Pt. Care Nurse, ER/Float Nurse)

• The staff nurse (RN or LPN) demonstrates sound clinical judgment in assessing and observing pts., interpreting signs and symptoms, and in initiating action and intervention.
• He/She is skilled, organized and efficient in performing required nursing activities

Minimum Qualifications

Current Iowa licensure as an RN or LPN.

Graduated from a state approved nursing program as an ADN, Diploma, or BSN degreed RN or as a LPN.

Maintains current ACLS/PALS/BCLS certification for RN

For LPN: Maintains current BCLS certification.

Expanded IV Therapy Course for the LPN-optional
