Job summary

Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton, Iowa, is seeking an Acute LPN or RN on a PRN basis to join its nursing team.

The staff nurse plans, delivers, and evaluates patient care, applying sound clinical judgment and a range of nursing modalities. LPNs and RNs must hold Iowa licensure with current BCLS; RNs may also need ACLS/PALS.

Qualifications

• Current Iowa licensure as LPN or RN.
• Maintains current BCLS certification (LPN).
• RN requires ACLS/PALS/BCLS certification.

Responsibilities

• The staff nurse plans, organizes, coordinates, delivers, and evaluates nursing care of patients.
• Delivers care in accordance with the care modality of the assignment.
• Demonstrates sound clinical judgment in assessing and observing pts., interpreting signs and symptoms, and initiating action.
• Skilled, organized, and efficient in performing required nursing activities.

Position Summary

PRN

The Staff Registered Nurse is a member of the health care team.

He/She:

• The staff nurse (RN/LPN) plans, organizes, coordinates, delivers, and evaluates the nursing care of the patients.
• He/She delivers care in accordance with the care modality of the assignment. (ER/Float Nurse, Total Pt. Care Nurse)
• The staff nurse (RN/LPN) demonstrates sound clinical judgment in assessing and observing pts., interpreting signs and symptoms, and in initiating action and intervention.
• He/She is skilled, organized, and efficient in performing required nursing activities.

Required Qualifications

LPN: Current Iowa licensure as an LPN.

Graduated from a state approved nursing program as an LPN.

Maintains current BCLS certification.

Expanded IV Therapy Course for the LPN-optional

RN: Current Iowa licensure as an RN.

Graduated from a state approved nursing program as an ADN, Diploma, or BSN degreed RN.

Maintains current ACLS/PALS/BCLS certification
