Job summary

Louisburg Healthcare & Rehab Center is seeking an experienced Medical Records Coordinator to maintain resident records from admission to discharge. You will ensure compliance with HIPAA, state and federal regulations, and support accurate ICD coding for billing.

The role requires 2+ years in medical records within skilled nursing or healthcare, and RN or LPN licensure with RHIA/RHIT preferred. Strong communication and confidentiality are essential in this setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in medical records in skilled nursing facility or healthcare related field.
• Must be a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
• RHIA or RHIT credential preferred.
• Knowledgeable of medical terminology, laws, and regulations in long term care.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and accurate, timely records.

Responsibilities

• Maintains resident medical records accurate, complete, and current per regulations.
• Manages coding to ensure appropriate billing and cash flow.
• Establishes procedures for coding, filing and retrieval of records; performs ICD coding.
• Conducts monthly audits of admissions, discharge and QA processes.
• Maintains registries for resident admission and discharge.
• Protects medical records from breaches of confidentiality.
