Apploi is seeking a qualified Medical Records Nurse to manage and safeguard resident health information in a skilled nursing setting. You will ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance from pre-admission through post-discharge, while supporting accurate ICD coding and compliant billing.

Responsibilities include monthly audits, maintaining admission/discharge registries, and adherence to HIPAA and federal/state laws.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in medical records in skilled nursing facility or healthcare related field.
• Must be a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Experience with ICD coding preferred.
• Knowledgeable of medical terminology, laws, and regulations related to long term care.
• Effective communication skills to maintain positive relationships with residents, families, staff, physicians, and agencies.
• RHIA or RHIT credential preferred.

Responsabilités

• Maintains resident health information to ensure records are accurate, complete, current, and confidential.
• Ensures accuracy of diagnostic coding to support proper billing and cash flow.
• Establishes procedures for collection, coding, filing, and retrieval of medical records.
• Performs monthly audits on admissions, discharge, and quality assurance.
• Maintains registries for admission and discharge of residents.
• Protects medical records from breaches of confidentiality.
