Job summary

The Alden Network is seeking a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse to provide direct nursing care and supervise daily activities of nursing assistants. You will ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local standards and facility policies to maintain the highest quality of care.

Responsibilities include planning and directing unit care, supervising staff, and participating in care conferences. Strong leadership, clinical knowledge, and compassionate patient focus are essential for

Qualifications

• Must possess a current, unencumbered nursing license in IL and/or WI.
• CPR certificate required or obtained within two weeks of employment.
• Knowledgeable of nursing practices and procedures.
• Demonstrates interest and/or knowledge in care of the aged.

Responsibilities

• Accepts and supports as directed by appropriate authority.
• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Ladies and Gentlemen of Alden for a respective unit.
• Assume all nursing procedures and protocols are followed.
• Directly supervise and instruct staff on topics to promote job knowledge.
• Ensure all staff follow established departmental policies and procedures, including dress code.
• Assist in developing a written plan of care for each customer.
• Attend and participate in care plan conferences as directed.
• Report concerns to the Administrator.
• Counsel/discipline nursing personnel as requested.
• Make daily rounds to ensure duties are performed and follow procedures.
• Create an atmosphere of warmth and calm in the department.
• Attend ongoing education programs.
• Recommend equipment and supply needs to the Director of Nursing.
• Place orders for medications and treatments as necessary.
