Job summary

South Texas Health System is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to lead nursing care for patients admitted or seen for medical conditions or surgical procedures. You will assess, plan, guide, and evaluate care, providing safe, competent nursing services and professional leadership to the healthcare team.

You will work within facility policies, uphold patient-centered care, and coordinate with hospital staff and other departments.

Qualifications

• Must have and maintain BLS certification.
• ACLS certification required; maintain current.
• TX RN license or compact state license; BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage patients admitted or seen for medical conditions or surgical procedures.
• Provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team.
• Oversee and guide nursing care per facility policies and patient-centered foundation.
• Interact with hospital staff and ancillary departments to resolve concerns as needed.
• May work weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, and/or on-call status.
• Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times.

Education

RN license valid in Texas (or compact state)

BSN preferred

Associate Degree / Diploma in Nursing

BLS certification

ACLS certification
