Job summary

South Texas Health System is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to lead and coordinate patient care in acute settings. The RN will assess, plan, guide, and evaluate nursing care, ensuring safety and adherence to facility standards while supporting a healthcare team.

The role requires a valid Texas RN license (or compact state), BSN preferred, BLS/ACLS certifications, and availability for some weekends and holidays. Compliance with policies and conduct is essential.

Qualifications

Active Texas RN license (or compact state license)
BSN preferred
Must hold/obtain BLS and certifications (ACLS, CPR) as required by unit
Commitment to compliance with Code of Conduct and policies

Responsibilities

Manage patients in medical or surgical settings and provide professional nursing leadership.
Assess, plan, guide, and evaluate patient care per policies and standards.
Provide safe, competent nursing care and supervise nursing staff under their supervision.
Collaborate with hospital staff and other departments to address patient care concerns and resolutions.
May include weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, and on-call status.
Demonstrate Service Excellence in all interactions.
